FAQS

SAT stands for Standardised Assessment Test.

Children are assessed in English Reading, English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, as well as Maths.

Key Stage 2 SATs take place in May of Year 6, when children are around 11 years old.

SATs help measure both a child’s progress and the quality of education provided by their school. They offer a clear picture of your child’s learning but do not affect secondary school placement or future opportunities.

It’s best for students to start preparing 6 to 9 months in advance, ideally at the beginning of the school year in which they will take the tests.
